BigRep ALTRA 670 Launches as the Company Leaves the Stock Exchange

1 min read

BigRep is leaving the stock exchange while introducing the ALTRA 670, an industrial printer with a 1200 × 700 × 800 mm build volume and extruders rated to 450 °C.

Two significant announcements

On October 23, Germany’s BigRep announced a stock-market delisting alongside its new ALTRA 670 industrial FFF printer. Management said earlier expectations for rapid additive-manufacturing growth had proved too optimistic, prompting a focus on a long-term ownership structure and product development.

Technical positioning

The ALTRA 670 has a 1200 × 700 × 800 mm build volume. Its chamber and bed reach up to 140 °C, while two DSX extruders are rated to 450 °C. BigRep targets large engineering-polymer parts, tooling and industrial fixtures. Motion hardware includes servos and ball screws.

What to watch

The printer is open for worldwide orders, with first deliveries expected toward the end of the following year’s first quarter. Real part performance depends on chamber uniformity, material profiles and controlled cooling—not merely peak nozzle temperature. The corporate restructuring and product launch are related strategically, but neither guarantees market success.

Commodore 64 Ultimate Returns: A Retro Legend, Not a 3D-Printed One

Commodore.net has officially relaunched its legendary home computer as the Commodore 64 Ultimate, rebuilding the classic machine on modern FPGA hardware. We cover it here as a curiosity: it has no direct 3D printing angle, since the case is produced with classic injection molding using the original 1986 tooling, not 3D printing.

Bambu Lab: construction advances on a planned 3-million-printer Shenzhen hub

Bambu Lab is taking a major step toward building one of the world's largest 3D printer manufacturing bases. Its planned “3D Printing Intelligent Manufacturing Headquarters Base” in Shenzhen's Guangming District has moved into site-preparation and construction-access work. The complex is designed for an annual capacity of more than 3 million 3D printers and will combine manufacturing with research and development, component production and materials-related activities.
